FAQs

At 4 months, most babies aren't ready for activity centers. Wait until baby can sit up completely unassisted (typically 6 months) and has good head and neck control. Some babies develop these skills closer to 5 months, but independent sitting is the key readiness indicator.

At 4 months, babies benefit from tummy time for strengthening, reaching for toys to develop hand-eye coordination, listening to music and voices, looking at high-contrast images, practicing rolling over, enjoying simple games like peek-a-boo, and experiencing different textures and sounds through supervised exploration.

Extended use of baby jumpers can potentially affect hip development if used before baby is developmentally ready or for too long. The repetitive bouncing motion and positioning may stress developing joints. Limit use to 15-20 minutes per session, ensure proper leg positioning, and wait until baby has good head control.

Baby's feet should lightly touch the floor in a jumper—flat footed or slightly tiptoed. If legs are fully extended or dangling without floor contact, the jumper is too high and should be adjusted. Proper positioning helps prevent strain on developing hips and legs.

Baby jumpers don't have official expiration dates like car seats, but should be replaced after 5-7 years due to material degradation, elastic wear, and updated safety standards. Inspect springs, straps, and fabric regularly for wear. Replace immediately if any components show damage.
